Hello friends! I owe you all a big apology for leaving you hanging for a couple of months. I promise it will not. happen. again. I’m back from my little hiatus and back for good. To kick things off I wanted to show you the fun I’ve been having decorating for Halloween.
Left: Simple white church candles decorated with spiders and spider webs makes for an eerie decoration. Right: Pumpkins greet trick or treaters at our entrance way.
Unlike North America, New Zealand is only just starting to embrace this holiday. You’ll see the occasional house decorated in theme, the occasional Halloween party and, if you’re lucky, you’ll get a couple dozen trick or treaters come to your house on the 31st. I love all things themed, dress ups and parties so of course I need no encouragement to decorate for Halloween. In saying that, with Halloween still in its infancy in New Zealand I didn’t want to go too over the top.
A few little touches like black feathers and black spiders spread throughout the house remind you its Halloween.
Look forward to seeing you all this Friday for my new series “Friday Drinks”.
P.S. How are you decorating your house for Halloween?
